The Polish wedding manual
A Polish wedding consists of three main activities. These must be repeated, in the correct order, without skipping any one. This winning formula was perfected by many generations of Poles celebrating countless weddings.
Eat - it all starts with delicious and nourishing food. This is essential, as it will create a solid base for the next step.
Drink - next up are the drinks. Most commonly a shot of vodka. But no worries, other options will definitely be available.
Dance - to wrap up you gotta hit the dance floor, so don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes. The “wodzirej” (DJ) takes care of music and dance floor activities.
CAUTION: Over the centuries, it was established that it is essential to never skip a step. The steps build on top of each other: the food creates a base for the alcohol, the alcohol creates the mood for the dancing, the dancing helps burn away some of the alcohol, and makes space for more food.
Oczyszczalnia Miejsce
Yes, we picked a venue, with a name which is impossible to pronounce by a foreigner. “Oczyszczenie” in Polish means “purification”, therefore “Oczyszczalnia Miejsce” is a place where you will be cleansed… of what? Well, that is very personal and for each of you it will be a unique experience ;)
It is a lovely place which hosts what the owners like to call “normal weddings for everyone”, as well as yoga retreats, self-development workshops etc. It is located in Ludwików, 50km / ca. 50 min drive away from the busy city centre of Warsaw. Lots of outdoor space, a spacious dance floor, cozy interiors and a permaculture garden to supply fresh herbs and vegetables for our meals - we think this sounds like the perfect ingredients for our party.
Transport
Getting to your hotel
If you're traveling from Warsaw, you have three options:
Car (own or rental) - most comfy.
Uber / taxi or similar (roughly €35).
The journey should take around 45-55 minutes.Local train + taxi combo: take a local train from Warszawa Zachodnia to Błonie (ca. 30min). From there you can take a taxi to your hotel (ca. 10min).
If you are staying overnight at Oczyszczalnia (mostly couples with small children) you have exactly the same options as described above, except that your final destination is Oczyszczalnia. For the ones who have their accommodation at Oczyszczalnia, the venue will be available for check-in at 15:00.
Getting from your hotel to the party (Oczyszczalnia)
There will be shuttle buses taking you from the two recommended hotels (Chabrowy Dworek, Pod Bażantem) to Oczyszczalnia around 3:20-3:30 pm (10 min ride), and then back later in the evening (several time options).
There are 50 parking spaces available at the venue, so if you come by car there should be enough space.

Dresscode
It's a very special day for us, and we want to express that also through our outfits. So, we invite you to dress up in your celebration clothes.
The dress code is “LOOK FANTASTIC AND FESTIVE”! This should give you lots of room for interpretation.
CAUTION STILETTO LOVERS!
One of the reasons we love this venue is that it is surrounded by nature. There is grass, there are pebble paths - so stilettos or other pointy high heels are not a good option . Block heels and platforms should be ok.
Talking about shoes - make sure they are comfy for dancing, or apply the proven method of bringing a 2nd pair of dancing shoes.

Gift Idea
If you want to give us a gift, we're saving up for our honeymoon. Any financial contribution towards this would be very welcome! But honestly, your presence is the best gift of all.
We will be traveling in Poland after the wedding, so flowers or bottles will be quite impractical.
Poprawiny
If you translate “poprawiny” with Google, you get “improvement” or “upgrade”. Yes, you can understand it like that... In the Polish wedding custom “poprawiny” is a follow-up reception that takes place on the day after the party.
In our case this will be Sunday, Aug 13.
